China and Thailand plan to build an Electron Accelerator Application Research Centre
On October 10, 2019, the three-day SMART ENERGY TRANSFORMATION ASIA 2019 (SETA2019) was held at the International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.
CGN presented the latest scientific research achievements and signed agreements with Thai local enterprises on technical co-operation and orders for the sale of electron accelerators.
Hsiao Kenneth, general manager of CGN Dasheng Accelerator Technology Co., Ltd. (CGN Dasheng), a wholly-owned subsidiary of CGNNT, Dr. Chomduen Satawut, general manager of Thai Nondestructive Testing Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as “TNDT”) and Mr. Thanat Sangarasri, general manager of Thailand Advanced Sterilization Company (ASE), signed an agreement for electron beam technology on behalf of the parties. The agreement includes a memorandum of understanding and electron accelerator sales order to jointly promote the construction of an Electron Accelerator Application Research Centre in Thailand. The centre will be used to expand the application of nuclear technologies in applications such as; industrial waste-water treatment, antibiotic residue treatment, irradiation preservation of agricultural products, disinfection and sterilizatron as well as material modification.
The parties will continue to give full support to resources, technology, talents and market opportunities and will increase the promotion and coverage of e-beam technology. The parties will actively seek new market opportunities to further promote the develop the application of e-beam technology through innovation and new projects in Southeast Asia and along “the Belt and Road” investment corridor.
